(100% vendange entier ; 50% of the crop was lost to frost): Bright, dark red. Very pure aromas and flavors of cherry, redcurrant, spices, licorice and flowers. Sappy, lightly saline wine with a light touch. Finishes juicy and persistent, with fine-grained tannins and saliva-inducing savory energy.

The 2016 Meursault Clos de Mazeray consists of just one 25-hectoliter foudre this year. It has a rounded, slightly smudged, honeyed bouquet with light brioche and almond scents. The palate has a pretty apricot and peach opening, moderate weight in the mouth with a conservative but clean and balanced finish that does not outstay its welcome.

(55% of the potential crop was lost to frost): Palish yellow with a green tinge. Lime and flowers on the nose. Dense and spicy in the mouth, still holding a good bit of gas and a bit chunky today as a result. At once saline and crunchy, showing an exotic suggestion of lemon drop and little easy sweetness. Finishes firm.
