Score 91/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2006

(blended with 25% merlot) Good full red. Aromas of black cherry, redcurrant, tobacco and mocha. Supple and sweet in the mouth, with dark berry and licorice flavors and little of the herbal character shown by so much North Coast cabernet franc. Finishes with dusty but sweet tannins, noteworthy breadth and fullness, and some lingering chocolatey oak. Excellent cabernet franc.

Blue fruits, ethereal lightness, and considerable elegance characterize the 2003 Cabernet Franc. It reveals minty, floral, blue and black fruit characteristics, admirable intensity and palate saturation, and considerable lightness on the palate. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. Tel.
