Score 94/100 · Drink 2026-2036, Jeb Dunnuck, Mar 2024

The 2021 Pinot Noir Rosella's Vineyard comes from a Grand Cru vineyard in the heart of this appellation, and it brings more intensity and depth, with a slightly more ruby/plum hue (it's still translucent) as well as a powerful nose of red and black currants, roasted herbs, iron, and black tea. Beautifully textured, medium-bodied, and concentrated, with integrated acidity and ripe tannins, this spicy, substantial expression of the vineyard is impressive today yet will be even better with 2-3 years in the cellar, and I suspect it will evolve gracefully through 2036.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Rosella's Vineyard is bright and effusive, with a gorgeous presence and tons of sheer class. Inky blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice and mocha infuse the 2021 with notable depth. This fleshy, expressive SLH Pinot is terrific, not to mention an absolute delight to taste.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Rosella's Vineyard is bright and vibrant, with nuances of tart blood orange, rose petal, pomegranate and oak spice. The tannins are still formidable today, but it’s absolutely salivating on the finish. This still needs another couple of years.
