Score 88/100 · Drink 2013-2017, Robert Parker, Oct 2013

A proprietary red blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Sangiovese, the 2010 Alavigna Tosca displays a less saturated plum/ruby color, more strawberry and cherry fruit intermixed with loamy, dusty soil undertones, and a soft, round, appealing personality. While fully mature, it is capable of lasting 3-4 years. Tel. (855) 238-9463

(a 60/40 blend of cabernet sauvignon and sangiovese; the sangiovese comes from Luna): Good dark red-ruby. Sauvage aromas of dark cherry, leather, sweet butter, licorice, herbs and nutty oak. Supple but dry and a bit roasted, with distinctly rustic flavors of chocolate and leather. Finishes with slightly dry tannins and a hint of raisined fruit. A bit too Old World for me.
