Pineapples. white peaches, tangerine, and assorted spices fill the aromatic profile. Fresh, energetic, even racy on the palate, the wine leaves you with zesty orange and yellow citrus, and a splash of white peaches. The wine blends 33% Sauvignon Blanc, 30% Chardonnay, 23% Gros Manseng, and 14% Viognier. The wine is vinified in stainless steel and barrel-aged in 60% new, French oak barrels.
A fresh, perfumed nose with some pears, lemon zest, nectarines and lemongrass. Crisp and medium-bodied on the palate, this has lovely freshness and a textured, lightly phenolic finish. A mix of sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, viognier and gros manseng.
The 2024 Tertre Blanc, which contains 30% Chardonnay, 33% Sauvignon Blanc, 23% Gros Manseng and 14% Viognier, has a lilting bouquet of grapefruit, honeysuckle and beeswax. The palate is fresh on the entry, with decent weight, an attractive texture and a bright, engaging finish. This is a lovely white Bordeaux that holds your interest.
About the producer
Until recently owned by the Albada Jelgersma family (along with Giscours), Ch. du Tertre is one of the oldest estates in the region – with a history stretching back 1,000 years. Classified as a Fifth Growth, its 54 hectares of vines sit on high gravel outcrops in Margaux.
