Based on 80% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, the 2024 Château Tessendey is a charming effort offering ripe black cherries, currants, tobacco, and spice, with leafy herb notes. Medium-bodied, it has a round, nicely balanced, layered mouthfeel and will unquestionably be a good wine.

Vivid plum colour. Tight structure on the opening, this harnesses the limestone austerity of the vintage, filling it out with raspberry and blueberry fruits, with a curl of floral aromatics. Slim, savoury. Harvest October 4 to 10. Consultant Thomas Duclos, Oenoteam, d'Arfeuille family owners.

The 2024 Tessendey has commendable fruit concentration on the nose: raspberry, wild strawberry and light minty aromas. The palate is ripe on the entry with supple tannins. Well-judged acidity and a little pepperiness on the finish. This is an understated but commendable Fronsac.

A fruity and playful red with berry and mint aromas. Medium-bodied with chewy tannins. Fruity finish.
