Score 86/100 · Drink 2020-2023, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Mar 2020

The 2017 Blaignan is a plump, fruity wine that will drink nicely over the near term. Sweet tobacco, cedar, crushed flowers, and herbs give this easygoing Médoc Cru Bourgeois attractive shades of nuance. There is no escaping the wine's lack of structure, but the 2017 is nicely done.

60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. Mid crimson. Gently, lightly leafy dark fruit. Supple, juicy, light bodied but balanced. You could drink this now. Lively and fresh. (JH)
