The 2018 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Narbantons has rounded out nicely and is showing very well in bottle, bursting with aromas of raspberries, cherries, spices and rose petals. Medium to full-bodied, ample and perfumed, it's lively and charming.

40% whole bunch. Tank sample. Mid to deep cherry red. Gorgeous aroma that is a little darker fruited than the Grands Picotins, still so fragrant, with a note of rock dust. A light touch but real intensity on the mid palate and good length. Finest of tannins. Light on its feet but should age well. A firm, dry, stony – almost powdery – finish. (JH)
