Score 94/100 · Drink 2022-2035, Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate, Oct 2021

The 2018 Grand Passage is made with 1% Merlot and erupts from the glass with intoxicating aromas of dusty cherry, plum reduction and blackberry jus, followed by nuances of sweet tobacco, dusty purple flowers and cigar box. Full-bodied, round and juicy, the palate is still firm with a tight mineral essence and reveals gobs of dark red and black fruit flavors that sway with a subtle element of tasty, savory spices and fine-grained tannins. The wine ends with a long-lingering and ever-evolving finish and will continue to be food-friendly for more than a decade. This was aged for 20 months in all French oak, 60% first fill. Only 5,352 bottles were filled. Bravo, it's delicious!

Score 94/100 · Drink 2021-2036, Jeb Dunnuck, May 2021

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Passage checks in as 99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot that spent 20 months in 40% new French oak. Black fruits, tobacco, chocolate, and lead pencil notes emerge from the glass, and it has an almost Pauillac-like style in its aromatics. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it's soft and mouth-filling, with sweet tannins and a balanced, character-filled style that's going to keep for 15 years or more.
