Made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon fermented in small lots and aged 22 months in 90% new French oak, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate 1 Post has a deep garnet-purple color and comes bursting out of the glass with bold cassis, black cherries, black plums and mulberry scents plus nuances of fragrant soil and Provence herbs. The palate is medium to full-bodied, very firm, taut and muscular with a lively herbal lift to the finish. 235 cases produced.

From the western side of the estate vineyard, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon 1 Post (100% Cabernet aged 21 months in 90% new French oak) is more upfront and decent in style, hedonistic notes of black cherries, cassis, spice, and graphite all emerging from the glass. With loads of fruit, a rounded, sexy texture, no hard edges, and a great finish, it’s another terrific wine from this estate. Drink it any time over the coming 15-20 years. These releases come from Pam Starr and Evyn Cameron, who own a larger 80-acre vineyard. While they sell most of their fruit, they produce tiny amounts of the Crocker & Starr wines.
