Score 90/100 · Drink 2020-2025, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Jul 2020

Medium to deep ruby-purple, the 2017 Syrah Hidden Terrace Vineyard offers crunchy black currant and blackberry fruit with notes of tar, cocoa, dried herbs and a hint of olive. The palate is medium to full-bodied with crunchy fruit character, a firm but finely grained frame and just enough freshness on the finish.

From a vineyard in Sonoma County, the 2017 Syrah Hidden Terrace Vineyard is a ripe, upfront, vibrant effort with lots of mulled red and black fruits, candied violet, cedar, and peppery spice aromas and flavors. It's nicely textured, medium-bodied, balanced, and ideal for drinking over the coming 5-7 years.

The 2017 Syrah Hidden Terrace Vineyard is magnificent. Deep and layered. with striking richness, the 2017 balances savory Syrah intensity with mountain structure. Black pepper, menthol, licorice, grilled herbs and black cherry fruit all open up in this explosive Syrah. This is such a gorgeous and captivating wine.
