The 2018 Chardonnay Broken Road Vineyard is laced with expressive notes of graphite, lemon confit, chamomile, white flowers and apricot. A wine of focus and cut, the Broken Road is decidedly mineral and savory in style. It is one of the most distinctive wines in this range from Stonestreet.

The 2018 Chardonnay Broken Road Vineyard was aged for 10 months in French oak, 55% new. It explodes from the glass with notes of fresh grapefruit, honeydew melon and pear tart with hints of honeysuckle and almond croissant. Medium to full-bodied with a pleasant oiliness to the texture and a lively backbone, it finishes on a nutty note. 300 cases were made.

The 2018 Chardonnay Broken Road Vineyard is also terrific, with lots of minerality as well as stone fruits, brioche, honeysuckle, and toasty oak. As with most of these 2018, it has a forward, supple texture, beautiful balance, and a great finish that shows a touch of salinity and more minerality. This is a straight-up classy, elegant yet textured Chardonnay to enjoy over the coming 7-8 years or so.
