The 2011 Reserva feels very harmonious and subtle, not letting through the heat from the vintage and showing contained ripeness and integrated oak; it has some balsamic aromas, somehow developed and adding complexity. The palate feels compact, with fine tannins and good balance, fresh enough and with a tasty finish. Ready and willing. In 2011 it's mostly Tempranillo, but it also contains 15% Graciano and 5% Maturana. Two million bottles produced.

Mostly Tempranillo. 20 months' ageing in American oak and subsequent 24 months in bottle before being released into the market. Quite a refined, elegant and classic nose showing spices, cedar and tobacco. The palate is well delineated, displaying fine-grained tannins and soft texture. On the delicate side of Rioja. It gives you a lot for a very good price. GV . (FC)
