Score 91/100 · Drink 2020-2030, Jeb Dunnuck, Jan 2020

The value-priced wine in the lineup, the 2017 Red Blend Tartan is based on 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 4% Malbec, and 4% Petit Verdot. This inky colored effort has lots of blue fruits, tobacco, lavender, and spicy aromas, medium to full body, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It's a smoking blend as well as a good value. Drink it over the coming decade.

The 2017 Red Blend Tartan is made up of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 4% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it has a nose of fried herbs, stewed black currants and prunes with wafts of cedar and cigars. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is hollow and chewy with an earthy finish.
