Saturated bright ruby. Urgent aromas of crushed dark berries, spices, bitter chocolate, violet and espresso. Densely packed and youthfully clenched; a more powerful style than the 2014, with a brooding blackness calling for patience. Its serious (oak-influenced?) tannic spine is in need of softening. This wine is still an infant and needs time to unfold, but it boasts terrific raw material and a wonderfully refined texture and restrained sweetness, and finishes with terrific length. (14.8% alcohol)

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon The Bully exhibits aromas of black plums, pencil shavings and espresso roast. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and nicely concentrated, with rich structuring tannins and a juicy core of fruit. I suspect it's best adapted to near-term consumption, but it's a decided success in its style.
Plums, blueberries, leafy herbs, and a hint of spring flowers emerge from the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon The Bully, which spent 23 months in new French oak. It's a rich, full-bodied, elegant, beautifully pure Cabernet Sauvignon that has the classic minerality of Red Mountain, yet stays fresh, balanced, and just glides across the palate. It's another beautiful wine from this talented winemaker. This is another sensational lineup from winemaker Chris Gorman.
