Score 92/100 · Drink 2016-2026, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Nov 2013

The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Poetry is endowed with serious power and depth. Blackberry jam, bittersweet chocolate, smoke, licorice, violets, new leather and spice emerge over time, but only with great reluctance. The 2011 needs time to come together. Today it is compact and intense, but not fully expressive.

(14.8% alcohol; includes 8% merlot and 2% malbec): Good bright medium ruby. Aromas of blueberry, menthol, brown spices and sweet oak, lifted by a floral nuance. Sweeter, denser and finer-grained than the 2011 Songbook, with noteworthy depth to the dark berry and spice flavors. This rather brooding wine is impressively long for 2011 cabernet, not to mention firmly structured.
