The 2011 Meursault Narvaux is a lovely wine that is at its peak. Deeper in color than anticipated, don't let that put you off. The bouquet is winsome with light pear, honeysuckle and wild peach scents, becoming more resinous with time. The palate is weighty with a fine bead of acidity, concentrated yet tensile with a waxy-textured finish. Premier Cru in all but name. Tasted at Maison de Colombier.

Owned from 2004. They’ve just pulled it up to be replanted in a couple of years – the vines were very ‘agrochemicalised’. Broad flavours but a bit lacking depth. Flattering but not very satisfying. Tight end. (JR)
