Score 88-91/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2005

(these vines are more than 60 years old) High-pitched aromas of flowers, lime, chalk and minerals. A step up in density from the previous samples, but still a bit dry-edged from the oak and from some unconverted malic acidity. Hard to assess today but appears to offer very good potential. (The Puligny-Montrachet Les Demoiselles and Le Montrachet were heavily marked by their new oak and still had too much malic acidity to assess at this early stage.)
