Score 86/100 · Drink 2004-2008, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2004

The light to medium-bodied 2001 Vosne-Romanee displays spicy, cedary aromas as well as flavors. Its creamy, satin-textured personality leads to a slightly compressed, tight finish. It should be drunk over the next 4 years. Importer: A Peter Vezan Selection, Paris fax #011-33-1-42-55-42-93

Medium red. Pure aromas of red fruits and flowers. Juicy, firm, nicely delineated flavors of red fruits, minerals and flowers. Lovely low-fat village wine with precision and finesse. Acids and tannins are ripe but firm. This wine benefitted from its final months of elevage

Full, deep red. Cool nose suggests violet, menthol and black pepper. Juicy, bright, minerally and on the lean side. Finishes with good length and a slight dryness. Still fattening on the lees, says Marie-Christine.
