Ripe and muscular, the 2018 Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Poisets bursts with aromas of cherries, berries, loamy soil, licorice and incense. Medium to full-bodied, it's ripe and chewy, with rustic tannin that needs some time to round out. Lignier lost some 20% of his crop here to hail.

From a parcel purchased in 2010, the 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Poisets offers red cherries, crushed strawberry and mulberry scents on the nose, which would benefit from more delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with dark berry fruit and touches of soy and sour cherries, tapering a little toward the finish. Fine, but more for early drinking.
