One of the most unique wines in the range, the 2013 Petite Sirah Old Vine oozes character and class. Inky blue and purplish fruit, smoke, licorice, crème de cassis and spices are some of the signatures. The Old Vine offers plenty of Petite density, yet the tannins are also nicely tamed, which makes for a wine that can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring.

The 2013 Petite Sirah Old Vines is 100% Petite Sirah from the famous Frediani Vineyard in Calistoga. This vineyard was planted by Alfred Frediani, the current owner, in 1939, is dry-farmed and head-trained. The 2013 spent 20 months in 50% new French oak and is a monster. Massive extraction of blackberry and blueberry fruit, an inky purple color, a huge, massive, monolithic mouthfeel, and mind-numbing extract and tannin are all present in this huge wine, which won't even hit its prime for at least a decade and then probably last at least 30-50 years afterward.
