From the cooler Green Valley portion of the Russian River and aged 17 months in 55% new French oak, the 2016 Pinot Noir Fox Den Vineyard reveals a vivid ruby color as well as a Burgundian bouquet of tart cherries, wild strawberries, underbrush, and scorched earth. It's medium-bodied, nicely balanced, has terrific purity, and the depth to evolve nicely for 8-10 years.

The 2016 Pinot Noir Fox Den Vineyard has a medium ruby-purple color and nose of black cherry, wild blackberry and blueberry with notes of tobacco leaf and earth. Medium-bodied with dark fruits, grainy tannins and mouthwatering acidity, it finishes spicy. 767 cases produced.

Quite a cool and crisp pinot noir with bright cranberry character, but it has the concentration to carry this style. Long, rather minerally finish. Better from 2020.
