Deep ruby-red. Superripe aromas of dark raspberry, pepper, flowers, smoke and animal fur. Creamy-sweet to the point of confectionery, yet the red berry and red cherryflavors are given shape by juicy acidity. Sweet but not at all sloppy. Finishes firmly tannic, with lingering sweetness.

The 2003 Syrah Larner Vineyard is a hedonistic offering. Big, smoky, bacon fat, creme de cassis, violet, espresso roast, and toasty oak aromas soar from the glass of this complex, harmonious, opulent offering. Although it is impossible to resist, its abundant power, richness, and stuffing suggest it will age beautifully for 7-8 years. Tel. (805) 686-2906
