The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley offers a ripe, forward style that still packs plenty of depth and richness. It doesn't quite have the polish or elegance of the Reserve bottling, and shows a kiss of grainy tannins, yet it still has loads of dark fruits, chocolate, violets, and smoked earth aromatics. Drink it any time over the coming decade or more.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Calistoga Estate is fabulous, as it has been these last few years. Rich and racy with tons of depth, Envy's Cabernet delivers serious quality and value. Leather, tobacco, smoke, gravel and earthy notes add character to a core of dark red fruit. As is the case with many wines, the 2017 here doesn't have the breadth of the very best years, but it is nevertheless absolutely delicious - and a flat-out great wine for the money.
