Score 87/100 · Drink 2011-2016, Jeb Dunnuck, Nov 2010

The 2003 McPrice Myers Syrah Larner Vineyard is very aromatic, showing a touch volatile, with violets, underbrush, and saddle leather on the nose. There’s a touch of brett, but it’s kept well in check with the fruit. Medium to full bodied on the palate, with good acidity, sweet fruit, and a clean finish, I would drink bottles over the next 3 to 5 years. Overall, this is still going strong, but is my least favorite of the lineup due to the slight volatile note on the nose.

Score 90/100 · Drink 2005-2010, Robert Parker, Jun 2005

The impressive, deep ruby/purple-hued, medium to full-bodied 2003 Syrah Larner Vineyard exhibits aromas of acacia flowers, creme de cassis, plums, and figs, ripe fruit on the attack, excellent sweetness, and a nicely delineated, precise mid-palate and finish. It is not a blockbuster, but rather a finely tuned, authoritatively flavorful Syrah that should drink well for 4-5 years. Tel. (949) 295-2159
