Tasting notes
Score 91/100 · Drink 2013-2020, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2012

The 2010 Chardonnay Bear Point comes across as implosive and tightly wound. The Bear Point is made from the same Chardonnay clone as the Gravel Bench, but here the terrain yields a decidedly austere, taut style of Chardonnay. If the Bear Point opens up it will merit a higher score. Still, it is impossible not to admire the wine's energy and big, broad-shouldered frame.

Winemaker Graham Weerts has fashioned a stunning set of wines at Stonestreet. The Chardonnays are all fermented with native yeasts and are aged in French oak barrels, typically 50% new except where noted. The Cabernets are all 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Alexander Mountain Estate. Weerts gives the Cabernets 18 months in French oak barrels, 40-90% new. Tel. (800) 355-8008
