The 2021 La Haye still has the graphite scents I observed out of barrel, a little muted initially though it coheres and gains intensity in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with an austere entry. There’s some underripe fruit here, but it does manage to retain freshness, delivering a slightly briny finish. Fine.

The 2021 La Haye has a perfumed, graphite-tinged bouquet, quite Pauillac in style and nicely proportioned. The palate is medium-bodied with firm grippy tannins and a little chewy, leading to a muscular finish. This will need to muster more finesse by bottling time, but there is some potential here.
