The 2021 Beaune Clos des Couchereaux 1er Cru offers slightly darker fruit on the nose. There's a clever reduction at play, with scents of orange rind and marmalade loitering in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with a little chewiness on the entry. The 2021 is not complex but has decent substance on the finish. I just wonder whether this will evolve into something interesting with bottle age?

Aromas of sweet strawberries, cherries, plums and licorice introduce the 2021 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Couchereaux (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot), a medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy wine built around powdery tannins that assert themselves on the finish.
