A brilliant ’08, the 2008 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc La Crau is fresh and crisp on the nose, delivering tropical slanted fruits, white flowers, vanilla bean, and subtle green almonds. Medium+ bodied on the palate, this has impressive richness, an edgy, energetic texture, solid balance and a very long finish. This will have at least 10 to 15 years of drinkability.

As usual, the 2008 Vieux Telegraphe Chateauneuf du Pape blanc is one of the top white Chateauneuf du Papes of the appellation. A blend of 40% Clairette, 30% Grenache Blanc, 15% Roussanne, and 15% Bourboulenc, it reveals lots of minerality as well as notes of lemon custard, honeyed nectarines, quince, and white currants. Ripe, full-bodied, heady, super-fresh, layered, and long, this beauty can be enjoyed over the next 2-3 years. Importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA; tel. (510) 524-1524
