From estate-grown fruit, the 2022 Pinot Noir Estate Grown Nash Mill Vineyard is brooding and flavorful in wild berry and strawberry, and it’s giving and generous on the palate while expertly maintaining a balance of bright acidity. Forest floor, mossy earth, mineral rockiness, and ethereal fruit define its savory character and complexity, while still being light and bright, with good subtle acidity. Integrated, it shows a light touch of tannin, finishing in a touch of citrus and pine. Enjoy now through 2032. With several exciting estate properties and a relatively new wine brand, Wentworth was started by Katie and Mark X. Wentworth, who purchased the Abel and Nash Mill Vineyards in Anderson Valley’s Deep End just 10 to 12 miles from the ocean, sites that were first planted in 1997 and 2003. Wentworth started planting the Wentworth Vineyard on Mendocino Ridge next to Drew in 2015, a year after buying the property. Amidst Douglas fir, pines, madrones, and tan oaks are small blocks of organic and regenerative Pinot Noir growing between 1,200 and 1,260-feet elevation just 3.5 miles from the ocean. Mark makes the wines with technical director Emma Kudritzki Hall.
