The 2019 Moulin-à-Vent La Rochelle has a very capable bouquet with vibrant red berry fruit, tinged with orange rind and light ferrous scents, quite complex and simmering with potential. The palate is very well balanced, with a killer line of acidity, chiselled tannins, fresh as a daisy, with a precise and quite Pinot-like finish. Very sophisticated, very delicious.

Full bottle 1,310 g. 65-year-old-vines. Aged 18 months in barrel. Ruby garnet hue. Red-fruit notes with a mineral edge and just a hint of chocolatey oak. Palate juicy but rich and smooth. Firm and structured on the finish. Obviously trying for something more serious. (JL)
