Tasting notes
Score 92-94/100 · Matthew Luczy, Wine Advocate, Sep 2024

Tasted as a final blend before bottling, the 2023 Côtes de Tablas Blanc is 34% Viognier, 31% Marsanne, 20% Grenache Blanc, 13% Roussanne and 2% Clairette Blanche. The nose is a beautiful combination of floral, breezy, honeyed and ripe, with ripe but focused orchard fruit aromas mingling with those of white flowers and wild herbs. The palate echoes this balance with lovely concentration and power braced with streaks of bright, chiseled precision.

Sweet herbs unveil crushed green apples and lime further enhanced by hints of fennel as the 2023 Côtes de Tablas Blanc slowly evolves in the glass. This is elegant and supple with juicy acidity to balance and a salty sensation that comes forward with time. The 2023 cleans up beautifully, refreshing the crispy palate with a reverberation of mineral tension and the slightest hint of sour melon.

The 2023 Côtes de Tablas Blanc blends richness with precision, as notes of raw almond and white flowers complement a savory mix of crushed rocks, sage and crushed green apples. Lifted and juicy in style, it has a salty core of minerals and citrus. The 2023 finishes clean, leaving a crisp sensation of liquid stone and sour melon.
