One of the gems in the lineup from Edward Snider is the 2016 Guest Cottage Owners Reserve, which checks in as 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Petit Verdot, and the rest Cabernet Franc that spent 22 months in new French Darnajou barrels. This big, dense, structured effort isn’t for those seeking instant gratification yet offers classic, powerful notes of black fruits, smoke tobacco, dark chocolate, and crushed violets. Full-bodied, rich, and powerful on the palate, with a deep, concentrated mid-palate, hide bottles for at least 5-6 years and it’s going to have three decades of overall longevity.

A blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Petit Verdot and 7% Cabernet Franc sourced from the Stags Ridge vineyard, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Guest Cottage Owner’s Reserve reveals a tantalizingly savory nose with notes of truffles, charcuterie, black olives and iron ore with a core of warm blackcurrants, blueberry pie, preserved plums and menthol plus hints of new leather and pencil shavings. Full-bodied and built like a brick house, it's very firm and super intense with beautifully ripe tannins and tons of freshness, finishing long and earthy. 127 cases produced.
