(14.5% alcohol): Healthy medium ruby. Very ripe aromas of black fruits, mocha and earth, with a slightly port-like aspect leavened by a touch of herbal character. Then fat, plummy and sweet in the mouth, with flavors of plum, tobacco and milk chocolate accented by spices. Perhaps a bit unrefined in its texture but approachable and ready to drink, finishing with fairly supple tannins.

Glass-staining ruby. Heady aromas of candied dark fruits, violet, pipe tobacco and vanilla, with smoke and sandalwood accents gaining power with air. Broad, seamless and sweet, offering intense cassis and bitter cherry flavors that show noteworthy depth and vivacity. Palate-coating and supple, with a broad, powerful, clinging finish that features floral pastille and vanilla nuances. With a little aeration this wine is actually quite approachable.
