Score 92/100 · Drink 2016-2036, Robert Parker, Mar 2016

The 2013 Pinot Noir Klopp Ranch is from Goldridge soils, which are favored by many Chardonnay and Pinot winemakers in the Russian River. Typical of her wines, there is terrific color, extraction and a deep ruby/purple color. The wine is broad, flavorful, intense, promising and delicious. Sweet plum, cranberry and black cherry notes moving toward bluer fruits are present in this full-bodied Pinot Noir that shows good acidity and ripe tannin. This is another winner, but it is most promising and brightest days are ahead of it. Forget it for several years and drink it over the following 15-20.

The 2013 Pinot Noir Klopp Ranch is forward, supple and juicy, all of which make it an excellent choice for drinking over the next few years. Black cherry, plum, smoke, cola, licorice and spice are front and center. The finish turns a bit compact, but there is just enough fruit to see things through.
