Score 92/100 · Drink 2015-2023, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Jun 2016

The 2013 Blaufränkisch Burgenland is a great charmer and offers a beautifully fine, fresh and floral bouquet with ripe cherries and raspberries presented on slate and chalk plates and spiced with freshly milled black pepper, a touch of licorice and violets. Highly precise and delicate, this is the wine that makes Blaufränkisch lovers, and I cannot remember having had a finer and more stimulating red of this Burgenland star in my life. This is like a Pinot from Vosne or a Monprivato Barolo and Roland says it is impossible to produce Blaufränkisch on a lower level with higher yield. Silky, sweet and fine on the palate, with a lovely juiciness and intense length it is also firm and untamed, with wild cherry and forest aromas and delicately grippy tannins. Great purity and finesse at a ridiculous price. This is a must buy. 48,000 bottles.
