The 2019 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru is finely delineated, pure, and a little loam-y in style, with an attractive bouquet of dark berry fruit and touches of undergrowth. Medium-bodied with plush tannins, fine acidity and a little corpulence, there is ample structure here, and a sapid, composed finish that leans a little toward the New World. This is a sleek, seductive Corton that just needs a couple of years to absorb the new oak. Delightful. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2019 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru is aged in 50% new oak, like the Premier Crus. It has a more perfumed bouquet, a little more cohesive, with darker fruit (black plum and black currant) and just a touch of India ink in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and fine acidity, quite tight and linear at the moment, but it shows a little more finesse on the finish than the Corton. Very fine.
