The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Riva Di Ponente offers up notes of roasted espresso, white chocolate, mulberry, blackcurrant and blackberry, is full-bodied, endearing and charming with low acidity and sweet tannin. Like so many 2014s, it is open-knit, precocious and forward. Drink it over the next 15-20 years.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Riva di Ponente comes across as quite backward today, with the oak and fruit front and center, and the tannins typical of this wine a bit in the background. Still, there is plenty of immediacy and more openness than is often the case, both of which suggest the 2014 will be ready to give its best with minimal cellaring.
