85% Chardonnay, 15% Savagnin. Oxidatively aged. Stinky and uncompromising but rewarding. Just slightly sherrified with real grip on the end. Hint of fennel juice. Interesting! (JR)

The classic blend of Chardonnay and Savagnin 2014 Côtes du Jura smells of (very good) Comté cheese and feels quite different from the 2015, a subtler vintage with more acidity and quite complex and complete. This has to be one of the most elegant vintages of recent times. The jaune-like character takes more time in the glass. The wine is complex, elegant and a little shy compared with the 2015. Seeing how the older vintages perform today, I'm probably too conservative on the drinking windows. But, who's going to wait until 2030, and where would this tasting note be then?
