2005 Domaine Pierre Damoy Chambertin Grand Cru

A completely different nose that is somber, even brooding with an emphasis on red and blue pinot fruit, earth and an interesting smoked meat component trimmed in a bit of wood that merges into textured, concentrated and very serious flavors that are superbly well concentrated and carry the structure of a classic Cham. This is like a bulldozer but it's not inelegant or foursquare, indeed I would even go so far as to say that this is really quite classy, just be prepared to cellar this for up to two decades to really see it at its best.
