(a blend of fruit from Allen, Bacigalupi, Bucher, Flax and Rochioli Riverblock vineyards) Good deep ruby-red. Intriguing nose hints at blackberry, plum, sassafras, burnt sugar and candied rose petal. Juicy, intensely flavored and tightly wound, with strong berry fruitiness complicated by notes of sassafras and anise. Lively, primary pinot noir with excellent fruit and texture. "Some of the vineyard-designated bottlings in 2002 are actually less complete than this blend," notes Cabral.
