Score 87/100 · Drink 2002-2012, Robert Parker, Aug 2002

The 2000 Pinot Noir Ferrington Vineyard reveals a dense plum/ruby color. The wine possesses floral notes along with black cherries, hints of sassafras, and a medium-bodied, oaky but tasty, fleshy style. It should improve with bottle age, and may merit an outstanding score. Drink it over the next decade. Tel. (707) 433-6425; Fax (707) 433-6546

Good saturated medium ruby. Superripe yet discreet aromas of dark berries, black cherry, raspberry, licorice and pencil shavings. Very sweet on entry, then firm, minerally and gripping. Slightly rustic and rough in texture but not in flavor. Tannins are still a bit angular.
