Tasting notes
Score 90/100 · Drink 2001-2011, Robert Parker, Jun 2001

The 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautifully stylish, almost European style Cabernet with sweet, pure black currant fruit, a moderate dosage of oak (80% French and 20% American wood are utilized), excellent texture, and a fresh, well-balanced and harmonious finish. This wine is user-friendly and meant to be drunk during its first decade of life. Importer: Dan Philips, The Grateful Palate, Oxnard, CA; tel. (888) 472-5283

Full ruby-red. High-toned aromas of cassis, blueberry, tar, bitter chocolate and leather, plus a faint weedy element. Juicy flavors of red berries freshened by an edge of acidity. Lingering, slightly tart finish features more acids than tannins. Nicely balanced for early drinking.
