Complexity, elegance, concentration, and character jump significantly with the 2003 Pinot Noir Estate. A medium deep ruby color is accompanied by sweet cherry, raspberry, and currant fruit intermixed with damp earth and background wood notes. Medium-bodied and pure, with a floral component that emerges as the wine sits in the glass, this stylish, complex Pinot Noir could easily be confused with a high class Volnay. It should drink well for 5-6 years. Kudos to the Talley family for its impressive dedication to high quality wines. Tel. (805) 489-0446

Red-ruby. Musky aromas of roasted red berries, coffee and earth, with floral and chocolatey suggestions. Sweet, supple and fat with fruit, with a fine-grainedtexture. Not especially vibrant or delineated, but shows more structure and finishing grip than theEdna Valleyoffering.
