Score 93/100 · Robert Parker, Dec 2008

The 2007 Pinot Noir Cinghiale Vineyard, which was cropped at 1.9 tons of fruit per acre, displays a classic Vosne-Romanee bouquet of spring flowers, forest floor, black raspberries, and sweet cherries. The wine exhibits round, generous, full-bodied flavors, excellent purity, and fine overall balance. There are 1,500 cases of this Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Coming from the advertising world, David Del Dotto has a creative personality, but behind the sizzle is someone who is obviously committed to producing world-class wines. In the process, he has built an empire with his acquisitions of vineyard land on Howell Mountain, Rutherford, Pritchard Hill, and Sonoma Coast. His extravagant venues in both Napa and St. Helena are eye-popping experiences to say the least. Del Dotto’s new group of wines include some stunning offerings that clearly merit the marketing hype.
