A 100% Grenache cuvée emerging from a sandy sector of La Crau, Royer's 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee les Sables de la Crau features wonderfully pure aromas of red raspberries, accented by hints of vanilla. It's full-bodied and concentrated, boasting remarkable freshness on the palate, finishing long but also dusty and tannic, with plenty of cellaring potential.

The 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Sables De La Crau (100% Grenache) brings the elegance and finesse up to another level and offers a beautiful perfume of black raspberry, strawberry, and blueberry fruits as well as notes of wildflowers, violets, lavender, and camphor. Full-bodied, incredibly seamless, and ultra-fine, this is Grenache at its more elegant and graceful, with flawless balance and a great finish. Hats off to Jean-Royer. This is the finest wine I've tasted from this estate.

100% Grenache. Aged in demi-muid. Cask sample.  Tasted blind. Vibrant nose and sweet plummy character. Firm tannins and a ripe vanilla-infused mid palate. Clean and sweet. Simple but appealing style. (AC)
