Gently herbal, with shadings of thyme and sage laid atop black cherries and cassis, Chimney Rock's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 4 is bold and intense. Medium to full-bodied, it's creamy-supple, tannic but ripe and long on the finish. It's just a super effort for the price.

In contrast, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 4 is darker and earthier, with plenty of plum and currant fruits supported by classic tobacco, chocolate, and lead pencil notes. Incredibly classic Cabernet on the nose, it's medium to full-bodied, has beautiful depth of fruit, ripe tannins, and chalky, mineral-style on the palate. This has more power and richness compared to the more perfumed Clone 7, yet both are brilliant wines. 609 cases.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 4 is a huge, bombastic wine. A burst of dark fruit, chocolate, new leather, spice and licorice saturates the palate. The 2019 is rich, sumptuous and full-throttle, yet retains plenty of the energy that is such a signature of Elizabeth Vianna's wines today. The Clone 4 has an exotic quality that I find especially appealing.
