The 2021 Banshee combines 40% Mourvèdre, 31% Syrah and 29% Grenache from the G2, Fulldraw, Paderewski and Moonsprings sites. The nose opens on an overtly harsh nose of alcohol fumes, burning through otherwise agreeable dark fruit aromas, new leather and cocoa powder. The palate is medium to full-bodied with solid concentration and a lovely texture. However, as with much of this range, it leads to a firm, thin, hard-edged finish with a hot, spiritous nature that I don't see rectifying itself with time.

The 2021 Banshee is savory and spicy on the nose, mixing rosemary and garrigue with shaved cedar and dusty red currants. It sweeps across the palate with textures of pure silk elevated by cooling acidity as depths of tart raspberry and ground clove slowly saturate. This is pure elegance, with sweet tannins grumbling under layers of rum-soaked raisin and spice cake, yet along a fresh final note.
