(14.2% alcohol): Dark red-ruby. Crushed blackberry, cedar and spice aromas are lifted by a violet note; more primary than the basic Stags Leap District bottling. Dense, thick black fruit flavors are enlivened by firm, integrated acidity. Not reduced like the basic bottling but more firmly tannic and primary and structured for a slower, longer evolution in bottle. This youthful wine finishes with notes of bitter chocolate and violet, avoiding dryness. Clearly from a quality site.

The delicious, dark ruby/purple-colored 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Tomahawk offers up aromas of black currants, cedar and flowers. Medium to full-bodied and elegant, it is a quintessential Stags Leap Cabernet to drink over the next 10-15 years. Chimney Rock’s wines are distributed by Terlato Wines International in Chicago, IL.
