The 2014 Chablis Villages has a generous bouquet with hints of dry gravel emerging from the glass, flanked by citrus fruit and yellow flowers. The palate is crisp and poised, well defined with a lovely saline tang on the finish, just a hint of toffee apple lingering on the aftertaste. Not bad at all, but I would reiterate my opinion from last year that I would trade up to Laurent's Premier Crus.

Pale yellow. Lemon, menthol and a note of oyster-shell austerity on the nose. Rich but penetrating, showing excellent density and inner-mouth precision. A very sappy, fresh village wine with excellent balance and a grapefruity, stony finish.

Iodiney oyster shell and lemon aromas are complicated by hints of white truffle and fresh porcini. Rich, supple and fine-grained but with terrific inner-mouth lift to its perfumed flavors of lemon and crushed stone. Finishes with subtle rising length. No bitterness here. A superb village offering.
